Membership
Each membership is important to DTHS. In fact, it is vital for continuation of the ongoing work of the Society. And this year it is even more vital. In 2012 the DTHS accepted Rebecca Southworth Simpson’s bequest of the Southworth Homestead. This exciting opportunity for the Society will require even more commitment from the community.
Each member receives the newsletters published by the DTHS.
Click on the link below, and download the membership form and mail with your check payable to Dryden Town Historical Society. Your continued support is appreciated.
Publications
In addition to the publications listed below, the History House also now has nice selection of post cards, stationery/notecards, and magnets, all which would make lovely gifts!
We also have three new publications at the History House!
NEW! “Dryden’s Second Hundred Years (Part II)”, By Elizabeth Gutchess, soft cover. Focus on local participation from Dryden in World War II paradoxically chronicles the entire war, a conflict which drew its combatants from small rural townships, assigned and scattered them throughout the world, and then delivered the survivors back home again, creating in every small American community a microcosm of the entire conflict, an eye-witnessing of the whole story.
NEW! “The Last Flight of El Flako, A Tribute to a Gallant Crew on their First and Last B-24 Mission” By Robert J. Steele in memory of Dewey Dey Steele of Freeville/ Malloryville. Bob Steele takes us on a personal journey of history and revelation as he recounts the story of his uncle, a gunner on a World War II bomber, and his own personal quest to uncover the fates of the crewmen, their families, and gracious Europeans who honored them.
NEW! “Gabriel, A Novel of The American Civil War”, By Matthew Watros. Gabriel Ballard is a fictitious interpretation of a teenage soldier’s experiences in the American Civil War, from the day of his enlistment in August, 1862 to his participation as a marauding “bummer” in General Sherman’s infamous March to the Sea.
Below is a list of the current publications/books available at the History House, or by sending a check (please contact us first regarding the shipping) along with the Publication Form (download at the link below), and it will be mailed to you.
